Books and vignettes...

So I hear the big craze now are vignettes...You know, a place where you display your loved decorative items, with style and perfection, creating a sort of art piece on it's own...

I love the use of books to create height and dimension when decorating your dresser, console table, coffee table, and any other surface. I haven't really tried this myself yet mostly because I don't have the appropriate surface to place a vignette. But I keep collecting and searching for new ideas to use in the future on how to pull that perfect vignette together using some books. The two above are from the same home, which you can find here. The first image I especailly loved beacuse of the cute but artsy camel statue sitting on top of the most fashionable books...

The seaside look captured here with a white coral, a pearly colored seashell, and a driftwood based lamp is completed here with seafoam & turquoise colored books and a vase. Find this via.

The earth tones here calm the room and the vignette supports the calmness with off-white and neutral colored books and accesories. Notice how a picture frame is placed on the books to balance the right and left of this long console table, and to continue the picture frame theme from the wall behind. Go to west elms blog here to find more.

Love the boxes placed atop the books to add height to this vignette. Just imagine this corner without the boxes...So boring! And the square shapes reflected here over and over really bring everything together... Read more here.

See how the accesories laid out here compliment the fashion magazine? And how the round shape is echoed throughout? Find a short tutorial on how to get this vignette look yourself right over here.
So maybe you have a box (preferably from Hermes, like the one above!) and want to showcase it in your entrance...Again, add volume by stacking a book (or books), then your box, creating a heightened area for your precious accesories...Take a look at more from this site here.

Display your artwork (like this one form Jen Ramos from Made By Girl), adding interest to the vignette by using similar colored book and accesories...Find more here on the artist's site.

Well, hope this post has provided you with some inspiration to get a couple of pretty books, stack them on a surface and accesorize them, creating your very own book vignette!

 Have a lovely week everyone!
