Weekend visit to a seaside town...

Welcome back everyone!

How was your weekend? Well, mine was spent in a tiny town by the sea filled with quaint village homes, a colorful market place, and to top it all off, a historical castle...

Here is what my weekend looked like:

The castle of Candarli, estimated to be from the 4th century BC. Back then this town was called Pitane and was under Greek rule...Curious? Find more about the town's history here.
Ellama street? As in El lama? Sounded strange, but "the lama" street looked more Aegean than South American!
Ellama street in Candarli, above and below, and some of it's lovely flowers...
Had a fun time spotting pretty doors like the one's here. The one below had a sign that read "Olive oil found here". So if you're passing by this particular house, you can just knock on their door and request to purchase some home made olive oil. Pure Aegean lifestyle at it's best!
This door's sign says to beware of the dog, below...Love the various tones of blue used on these simple doors.
Oh, and I musn't forget to tell you about the homeowners who grow their own grapes right in front of their homes, like the one below. This household will definitely be eating grapes soon!

I didn't have enough time to go to the  town's beach this week, but since I'll be heading back next week, I'll be giving you some insight into that topic as well. I did get to take some pics by the fisherman's wharf though, so I'm showing you those instead.

A small scale farmer's market at the city center, and a huge selection of beach toys for the kids...

So, that was my weekend...What have you been up to? I'd love to hear from you!

Have a great week everyone!
