I'm back finally with some pictures from our weekend at Pitane, aka Candarli. I'll be posting the pictures in a couple of separate posts since there are a lot. Wanted to start you off with this historical building by the shore, which is known to the locals as the "olive oil factory":
Now it has been renovated and is used as an exhibit area as well as cafe. Seeing this stone and wood structure renovated and in use made me so happy!
The exhibit area and my husband looking interested in a picture, above.
The ceiling. I absolutely loved the original wooden beams. The second floor was equally beautiful, with dining tables and a traditional Turkish seating area, complete with a wool kilim and mini horse cart, below.
Some trinkets hung on the walls to ward off evil spirits.
View of the beach from one of the windows.
View from the balcony. Can you imagine, decades ago this view belonged to a olive oil factory?
More to come later this week, so stay tuned everyone!
Have a great Tuesday!!!
