Versatile and stylish: Low bookcases for your home...

Hi everyone!

Hope you've had a great weekend! Mine was full of chaos as I tried to clean and organize my home all on a Sunday...SO happy to have accomplished my mission! Now family and I can sit back and relax in a fresh smelling environment. Yaaay!

As for today, I wanted to bring back the bookcase to your attention. But this time I wanted to share with you my personal love for not only bookcases, but low bookcases...Versatile, easy to use, and space saving, low bookcases can really change the entire look of your wall, window front, or even room. Stack your books in them, and display your favorite books, cherished items,  flowers and plants, and even art on top of them.

Here is some inspiration for you to get started on your own low bookcase in your home...

Propped against a wall, these low bookcases add dimesion to the room. They are also ideal to display loved items, or to hang pictures and mirrors on the wall just above them. Find this version  here

A similar bookshelf arrangement, found here, that provides storage while filiing up some empty space that would otherwise be unused. The picture above the booksheves complete the wall beautifully, below:

Placing your sofa in front of the bookcases can save space if you are working with a smaller area like this one below from coastal living:

Built-in under a fantastic window, these open bookcases in square form provide a more modern look. Plants in pots and treasured ethnic figures find a good home on the top of the bookcases. Find out more about this idea here.

Another low bookcase built under a window. I like how the bookcase are divided from the exact same place the windows are, creating a cleaner, symetric look. Find this one right here.

Books arranged according to their color give this higher-than-usual low bookcase a clean and cheery look. The chair used for this reading area adds to the cozy Scandinavian design, all found here.
Wrapping a corner with bookcases can create a special reading corner or office area without much effort. Stack books on top of them, place pictures in frames against the wall, and add some stylish task lighting, and you're good to go! Find more ideas here.

A low bookcase can also be used to divide living spaces, found in this lovely home from this blog, and this website, below:

This entryway bookcase, below, provides not only a place for your books, but also provides a countertop to place your bag or keys. Functional and beautiful, from Better Homes...

Hope I've helped you get inspired, and thanks for visiting...

Have a great week my lovely readers!
