Design: Faking it with wallpaper...

Hey everyone!

It feels as if October inched its way to the 31st! Since I'll be working late tomorrow night, we'll be having a family-sized candy hunt/trick or treat tonight, along with some spooky story telling. I think I'm as excited as the kids are!

Last week when we were talking about Halloween both of my kids said that it reminded them of William Shakespeare! Can you believe that? Well, I gave it some thought and I guess like many Americans Halloween reminds me more of Edgar Allen Poe than Shakespeare. And Poe reminds me of dark libraries, for some reason. So today I give you some inspiration anyone can adapt to their home: walls full of dark and dusty books...Only these are all just rolls and rolls of wallpaper!

I absolutely love the staircase rolling downhill with loads and loads of books...Not for the light at heart, though! And the reading corner above is where Poe would be sitting if he lived right now, don't you think? Complete with black skull candle, find the rest of it all here.

Why not try this trend in your bedroom? Old dusty books, mixed and disorganized, creates drama and adds texture, found right here.
Close-up to one of the many "bookcase" wallpapers, this one found here.
Personally I like this presentation the best...A real warm hearth flanked on both sides by fake bookcases! Find this home here.
Real bookcase meets its match: wallpaper the wall just adjacent to your "real" bookcase to add more drama, which you can find here.

This is probably the first room I had ever seen with this theme, and I had to share it with you. Find out more about the designer, Abigail Ahern, and all her other projects on her website.

Have a wonderful, book-filled day!
