Design: Handmade and colorful rugs and kilims...

Hello my lovely readers!

Have you noticed the kilim craze that has gotten even bigger this season? We even saw it in fashion, and I personally purchased a few items for my wardrobe this past autumn, but seeing it everywhere this season got me thinking: How much kilim is enough kilim?

So you already know from this post that I really do enjoy having handmade rugs and kilims in my house. Here are some ideas for you to incorporate this timeless trend in your home, too:

I really love this upholstered chaise-lounge, perfect for reading...The decor surrounding this piece also compliments it nicely, don't you think?
Having a pillow (or pillows) for relaxing on your couch is a must, so why not try some with geometric kilim patterns? And the rug adds extra color and pattern to this monochrome room.
I've never tried this, but why not? Using a handwoven rug as a tablecloth was pretty fashionable 500 years ago, and maybe it could make a comeback! I especailly like the spice colors complimenting the rustic chairs and bowl.

Kilims mixed with gray and white looks so beautiful in this living area.
Another kilim in oranges and purples used as a tablecloth.
And finally, a classic use of the traditional kilim, on the floor. It certainly brings a lot of character to the room.

So, would you consider adding a handmade rug or kilim to your home?

See you later!

  1. Their quality is great and they are long-lasting. People love Pakistani carpets due to its excellent heritage. Nowadays, these carpets are made from imported New Zealand threads. Despite the top quality and durability, Pakistani carpets are cheaper than Persian carpets.
