For many years I've wondered "what is it that makes a house a home"?
Apart from sharing it with your loved ones, of course.
Well I believe this beautiful home in Australia may just answer that question....
At first I felt this home was a bit too crowded for my taste, but somewhere in the back of my mind I also thought it felt right.
Decorating a home with objects you love is always the best place to start. Modern, counry, or eclectic, whatever your taste, as long as it's what you enjoy seeing everyday in your space, then I say go for it.
Your personality is what makes a house a home, so bring it into your living space too.
The eclectic and rustic pieces in this home for me means the homeowner wanted a
laid-back, cozy, and comfortable place to get away from everyday life. I can't help but mention how beautiful the modern Saarinen table blends in with the rest of the decor, as well as the use of caramel/rust color paired with gray. I am definitely going to try that color combo in my home!
The kitchen proves the homeowner likes collecting and showcasing, but is not too worried about how organized the space should look...Which to me looks so country style and rustic...So beautiful...
BTW, did you happen to notice the humongous mortar and pestle sitting pretty on the kitchen counter? Love it!
The bedroom looks so luxurious yet so simple...Again, I have to note the use of rust and gray tones that work so perfectly together.
And I call my bathroom a "bathroom"!
What do you think makes a home?
Enjoy!
