Hello everyone, and Happy Sunday!
Working as an ESL Instructor, I meet some very nice and also talented people. At the moment, I happen to have a student who is the owner of a design and architectural company based in the city where I live in Turkey. It's a husband and wife team that has decorated some pretty sophisticated spaces and designed some very beautiful houses and apartment buildings. So today I've chosen to share with you only one of the many projects they have creatively put together.
I chose this interior from all the other projects because I do like the color gray in decor, and this home not only has lots of grays but also a more laid-back, but still sophisticated, feel.
This kitchen was especially my favorite space since it has a sitting area to the right of the photo in the background. Not many homes here in Turkey have open plan layouts, so the small sitting area with a TV situated in the kitchen is a nice touch.
Marble is abundant in Turkey, and so are it's varieties. The cool gray tones throughout the home are reflected in this bathroom using two different tones of gray marble with different patterns. The wallpaper used behind the backsplash is a slightly darker gray, more charcoal, which provides for a focal point in the room. The differences in tones of color and pattern comforts the eye as it continues the overall scheme in the home.
Built-ins are pretty popular in Turkey right now, and here in the bedrooms the headboards certainly do make a statement.
I think the bathroom above, with the walk-in shower and beautiful tangram-shaped tiles, is my most favorite room in this home!
What's your favorite thing about this home?

Enjoy your Sunday!
